Welcome to Pre-Carpathians!

    A 503 square kilometer part of the mountainous territory is apportioned for the Carpathian state natural national park. It encompasses the sources of the Prut River and Chornyi Cheremosh River and Mt. Hoverla. The main role of the Park is to assist in the preservation of the landscapes, vegetation and wildlife, thereby creating suitable conditions for rest and tourism while introducing tourists to the Region’s natural resources and monuments of history and culture.
   In the Oblast there are five resorts and two sanatoriums. For resort therapy they use climatic treatment and mineral baths. There are following resorts: lowland: Kosiv, Tatariv, Yaremche; midland: Vorokhta, and the balneological pre-mountain resort Cherche.
   Yaremche is also known as the tourist capital of the Carpathians, and Vorokhta - the winter sports capital. Both towns have well-developed infrastructures.

     Chernivtsi has an enormous tourism potential for its numerous monuments of different historic periods and ethnic cultures, rich palette of multinational population cultural customs and traditions, favorable geographic position. Besides separate buildings of the 15th-17th centuries, the architectural elements of the downtown have the most important historical and aesthetic value. First of all these are the former administrative buildings and some apartment houses built at the end of the 19th — beginning of the 20th centuries and the period between two world wars.
  The major architectural styles are Viennese secession and neoclassicism filled with elements of baroque, late Gothic architecture, fragments of traditional Moldavian and Hungarian architecture, Roman-Byzantium style as well as cubism.
   One could get acquainted with our past and present in the regional museum of local lore, history and economy.
